Natural selection is one of the cornerstones of modern biology. The term was introduced by Charles Darwin in his groundbreaking 1859 book The Origin of Species

Let’s face it… this guy is soooooo cute I want to call him George.

I mean look at this guy, one cool thing is when my daughter turned him upside down, he didn’t fall off her finger.

This fella was in my back yard, in the city of which I was borne and have lived all my life. I’ve never seen George or any other like him until this year.

So I’m thinking maybe he’s in a transitional state, no not going from Cuba to North Carolina, I mean from single cell to human.

And if he is I’d tell him “man you’ve got to keep that hanging upside down thing going, that is cool ”

And this guy is soooooo funny. He is in our fish tank. We have two so they won’t get bored. But the thing I like about these guys are they swim around and go up the tank, looks like they are taking breaths of air, then down the tank. They seem to take turns, when one is up the other is down.

They do this, and are very active for at least an hour, then they stop. And sit there on the bottom and seemingly hold their breath for days.

Well if he too is in a transitional state, I’d tell him “man don’t give up that holding your breath thing, that is cool!”

I’m kidding of course but here’s the thing… at what point do you say Evolution is the way and totally forsake the Creator. I mean you’ve heard about God, His love, His mercy, His Son, His forgiveness, His salvation and His judgment at what point do you say in your heart “there is no God”.

What if you’re wrong?

That’s the thing, as a Christian saved by faith, if I’m wrong then I only live a life thinking I am loved, so I love, thinking I have mercy so I am merciful, thinking I have forgiveness so I forgive, and I return to dust.

But if you’re wrong? The consequence is eternal.

Then judgment is before you and you would have to answer the question “why should I let you into My Heaven?”

Well the answer is He shouldn’t. If you don’t want to believe in God here why would you even want to be with God there? Then what is your alternative. Well the alternative is a life, after your death, without God.

Without God. Well if God made everything and everything was made by God then He made mercy, forgiveness, love. These are the benefits of life with God. A life without God then becomes the opposite of these things. Your heart will cry for mercy and there will be none, your heart will cry for love and there will be none, and forgiveness, there will be none.

Just a thought.

Expelled, the movie.

It was not at all what I expected which was nice. It was shot in a documentary style much like Al Gore’s ‘An Inconvenient Truth”. So my first reaction is “will Ben win an Oscar?” the filming just a good, the facts just as compelling. “Will Ben win a Nobel Peace Prize?” for much needed awareness of even the possibility of ID, Intelligent Design. (which may be a carbon swap for Creator)

But I loved it. It was just plain well done.

What I loved about it was that yes it was biased, it was edited in favor of ID but it filled many holes in the ID argument and presented many holes in Evolution THEORY, let me say it again :EVOLUTION THEORY.

So how did ‘theory’ become fact?

Dr. Richard Dawkins http://richarddawkins.net/ answers that as he stands by the fact that Evolution Theory is fact, as most Evolutionist do; “I’m right and if you don’t believe me, read my book. Then if you still don’t see I’m right, you must be stupid.”

Ben “ok, everything came from a single cell, where did that come from?”

RD “nobody really knows… aliens”

Ben “ok where did they come from”

RD “nobody really knows…”

Round and round we go, where it ends… well, “nobody really knows”. End of story.

But if you believe in the Creator, God the Creator, then you do know.

If science were to recognize a Creator (check this site out www.creationstudies.org ) what an awesome way to give glory to the Creator by the amazing things we discover!

Now I’m not jumping on a bandwagon and Saint Ben Stein is not my hero any more than Saint Mel Gibson was for making The Passion, and I’m not calling for Saint Al Gore to give back his Oscar and Nobel Peace Prize.

Bottom line, go see the movie. It’s not going to change the brilliant minds of the Evolutionist, but Ben makes a good point about everyone doing their part (just like Al Gore says) and question what science is saying, ask why, state some very obvious things that support creation (like ‘ok where did that come from?’) then perhaps we could see a change. Wait, didn’t that sound like Al Gore?

So do you think Ben will win an Oscar, or a Nobel Peace Prize?

I just love this scene. Jesus, the GrandMaster Chess player. Here you have all these religious rights challenging Jesus, thinking they are soooo intelligent and in a few brief moves… checkmate, and there they are staring at the board,  their faces red with anger and complete embarrassment to wonder, ponder, fight, connive, plot, can you even imagine??? and my favorite line of all ‘So they left him and went away.’  How quickly they realized the weight of what they were up against.

Ya know what I say? Pay the taxes! You’ll get it back somehow. It may not be monetary but you can be at ease and free from trying to rip off the Government.

Consider the lilies …

Actually these are zanias and I still consider them to this day and will the rest of my life.

About 5 years ago we had a garden of these, probably 100 or more, planted out by our shed. Their season had ended and I pulled them as they died off and was down to just a few.

A day or so later I got really angry with God over city/shed issues that were not going our way. My shed door was open and I just remember looking at the door, grabbing it and as I threw it shut my eye caught the few zanias left and I cried out “God if you are real, make a yellow one come up ”

The significance of the color yellow was that in my brain I knew I had only seen a few out of the hundred and they had long been pulled. A yellow one coming back was impossible.

So not to test God I said I was sorry and would not hold Him to this request.

And by now you probably know, the significance of the color yellow was that about two months afterward I happened to be out by our shed and had long forgotten about the incident when like in the twinkling of an eye, I looked down and to my amazement there it was, a single yellow zania.

I could not believe my eyes and my heart just melted.

I love telling that story because it is so amazing how God showed up. Later I realized that if God had raised one up upon my request I might have been able to explain it. But two months later, not only had the zania season ended but I had pulled every one up. It was barren.

When I thought of the blog, GodScript, I thought of this story and was wondering where I was going to get the photo. So again I was amazed to come across this picture taken on 4/16/03 when I had that garden of zanias. The yellow one captured because there were so few and it made for good contrast.

So the story continues 5 years later with another twist as this is the only picture I have of that patch.

It’s the little things, the small whisper that sometimes reveals our amazing God.

Jesus loves little children and since mine are a little older and out of diapers, I can see why.

Anyway this was drawn by my 5 year old and she taped it on our ‘gallery wall’. One day she saw it hanging there while I was with her;

“daddy did you see that?”

“Yes I did what is it, tell me about it”

and she explained that on the left was the day and on the right was the night.

And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

Of course!!!

Again I was amazed at how a little child can understand our great and mighty God, that He makes the simple wise.

I’ve used this verse before…
And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
-Matthew 18:3

But it’s so true. I just think when we get to meet Jesus for the first time, face to face, there will be this humble, innocent excitement, and at the same time the full knowledge of God Himself.

I can only imagne… yes the song says it well!

Good Friday: For over 2000 years we have celebrated this day as the most important day in human history. Our calendars are marked by it, we live, love, argue, sometimes fight and die over it. People who don’t believe it’s true are affected by it whether they want it to or not.

That is the death, and three days later, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Over 300 Hebrew Scripture (Old Testament) prophecies describe the event that changed the world.

The world before never knew God as we can. They never had the opportunity to have a personal, one on one, open relationship with God.

This event opened the opportunity to know God when Jesus, the Son of God, offered himself as a Sacrifice, His perfection for our imperfection and His sinless life for our sinful life.

Now by simply praying this prayer we, that is everyone and anyone, can have perfection through Jesus Christ.

If you have not ever accepted Jesus into your heart, today would be the perfect day…March 21, 2008.

I ran across this article on MSN’s MoneyCentral page. It is worth the read, and view the videos, for a few reasons. One: is because God does have a lot to say about money and we need to know how to use the monetary resources God has ‘loaned’ us. Two: because the interview and perceptions about God’s people and how much (or how little) money God’s people should have are skewed and I think it is reflected a bit in this article. But there are some good Biblical references. And Three: because God has a lot to say about money and apparently other gods have things to say about money too.

We need to be aware of what influences our decisions concerning money. Please have a look.
